Infy Makers Awards

The Infy Makers Awards contest was an annual national contest that ran from 2015-2025 and was sponsored by Infosys Foundation USA. This program supported innovative educators from K-12 schools, universities, colleges, libraries, museums, makerspaces, and youth-serving non-profit organizations using maker education to promote equitable and inclusive pathways for K-12+ students in computer science. The theme for Infy Makers Awards 2024 was "Making A Difference," which focused on projects empowering students to become creative problem-solvers of real-world challenges, both in their local communities and on a global scale. The video below chronicles the impact of this contest over the years.
Every year, 10 educators each received a $10,000 grant which could be used for a variety of purposes, including technology and materials, student projects, research and community engagement; as well as the opportunity to participate in a Making CS Inclusive professional learning cohort facilitated by Digital Promise.
This #InfyMakers awards program was launched in June 2015 to celebrate the White House’s “National Week of Making” which recognized the Maker Movement and inventors. Since 2016, the Foundation provided over $1.5 million in grant funding to 100+ organizations in 40+ communities across the country. Stories about the winners and their projects can be found below.
