• Email Administrator Letter of Support to your school principal or authorized district administrator for signature and have them scan and send it back to you. You are responsible for uploading the digitally signed version within your application.
• Save as PDF (LASTName_FIRSTName_AdministratorLetterofSupport.pdf)
• Keep PDF handy during application process as you will need to upload it. *This is a mandatory document for your application.

Collect your school’s data from National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). Enter your school’s name, city, state to find relevant information. Keep this data handy during the application process as you will be required to enter it.

• This year, all teachers must apply though the Pathfinders Online Institute. Click here to access the Pathfinders Online Institute to create an account. (If you already have an account, please login using your existing username and password).
• Upon creating a Pathfinders Online Institute account, click the orange ‘Apply Now’ button on the top banner of the landing page.
• You will be immediately directed to the registration page where you can complete your application.
• Add Pathfinders@InfosysFoundationUSAEvents.org and foundation.usa@infosys.com to your "safe senders" list to ensure communications do not get caught in your spam filter.
• Check your email for confirmation of receipt of your application. Save this email and your confirmation number as you will need both for revisiting your application at any time.
• Reference the FAQs for additional information about waiting period, funding and other details.

Upon email notification of acceptance, please begin to secure your funding to ensure your participation in the Pathfinders Winter Institute 2021. All courses require you to raise funds. The cost to attend any of the courses is $850 and includes virtual conference registration costs, tuition and specific resources if applicable needed to participate.

**Please note the first 30 US public school teachers who apply and are accepted to CMU CS Academy will participate for free.

Please select one of the following two fundraising options:

• 5a) Funding via school, district or PTA
  • Upon acceptance to the Pathfinders Winter Institute 2021, 70% ($595) of your fees will be paid by Infosys Foundation USA. You are expected to raise the remaining 30% ($255) to attend. Please work with your school principal, district, or PTA to secure this funding.
  • Provide school, district or PTA the appropriate invoice (included with your email notification of acceptance) along with instructions about how to remit payment. Secure and submit your 30% funding no later than Monday, January 11, 2021 to ensure your participation.
  • If you are successful securing this funding, please skip ahead to Step 6.
• 5b) DonorsChoose
  • If you plan to create a DonorsChoose project page to attend the Pathfinders Winter Institute 2021, the cost of your package will be $850. This cost includes virtual conference registration costs, tuition and specific resources if applicable needed to participate in your selected virtual PD opportunity.
  • DonorsChoose provides a platform for any public or charter school teacher to secure funding to attend the Pathfinders Winter Institute 2021, regardless of the availability of funding from their district. Creating a project on DonorsChoose to fundraise only takes a few minutes.
  • You will receive a special 3X match from Infosys Foundation USA, tripling each donation you fundraise.
  • The last day to create and submit a DonorsChoose project is December 11, 2020 by 11.59pm ET.
  • Create and post your PD project on DonorsChoose to attend the Pathfinders Winter Institute 2021, using the unique campaign code the Pathfinders Team will share with you by email when you are accepted by the PD course leader. If you plan to create a project page, please follow these instructions from DonorsChoose: https://help.donorschoose.org/hc/en-us/articles/360057160373
  • Please submit your Pathfinders application by Dec 8, 2020 so that you can get accepted into your course and then submit your project on DonorsChoose by Dec 11, 2020. Note that the project will need to be fully funded by January 11, 2021 to ensure your participation.

• Check your email regularly for notification of acceptance. Please note that:
  • All applications (including yours) will be immediately placed on a default waitlist while under review. Acceptances will be made on a rolling basis based on priority categories including: high-needs schools, schools outside major urban centers, teachers at schools with significant under-represented student populations, teachers new to teaching CS and making, and districts demonstrating significant commitment to these subjects by sending multiple teachers or counselors.
• Log into the application system at any time to review the status of your application.
• Save all attachments from your notification of acceptance email. This email will have one invoice for funding from your school, district, or PTA. If you are funding through DonorsChoose please follow those relevant steps outlined above.
• Depending upon demand, we may not be able to accept all teachers who apply. It is possible that you may not receive notification of acceptance until that date, though you will likely hear back much sooner.
• Please note that acceptance into a course does not guarantee you a confirmed seat. Confirmation to attend occurs once you are fully funded.

• Check your email for confirmation that your funding is complete. This email will be sent to you once your project is fully funded through DonorsChoose or once your payment from school/district/pta/personal has been received.
• Expect to receive a “Know Before You Attend” email from the Pathfinders Team starting the week of February 1, 2021. Save this email which has everything you need to know for your ‘virtual’ experience including virtual classroom details, course material to be shipped to you in advance, etc.
