Infosys Foundation was conceived with a simple goal: paying it forward by creating lasting, intergenerational change and helping people across the country. Empowering the blind with Artificial Intelligence
When Seetharam Muthangi's sister lost her eyesight, he wanted to help blind people lead a better life. This led him to build Smart Vision Glasses — an AI-enriched assistive device that helps people with visual disabilities identify objects and people, gauge distance, and even read books.

A large majority of underprivileged urban women are still deprived of the basic amenities of sanitized household toilets. Shelter Associates, an NGO, strives to rectify this problem with their innovation of One Home One Toilet, a data-driven model focused on providing good quality toilets to houses in urban slums.

Revolutionizing jaundice treatment with phototherapy
80% of premature babies and 60% of term babies get jaundice. Yet there are very limited options to diagnose and treat it in rural areas. When Prasad Muddam’s son was diagnosed with jaundice, treating him proved to be a huge struggle. This pushed Prasad to invent nLite 360 — a portable, battery-powered smart phototherapy device that provides customized treatment for jaundice.
