While Australia is known as the lucky country, homelessness is a growing concern. One of the after effects of homelessness is the lack of access to healthy food and cooking facilities. Over 300 employees of Infosys, Australia have been active volunteers at a couple of social responsibility programs. At VincentCare Victoria, Melbourne, volunteers help prepare and serve meals to the homeless. At Foodbank, Sydney, volunteers sort and load donated food and groceries into household parcels, ready for delivery to families in need.
The combined effort at VincentCare and Foodbank has made a real difference to the lives of thousands of disadvantaged individuals. The dedicated work of Infosys volunteers was appreciated and recognized when they were named winners in the 2017 Outstanding Volunteers category at VincentCare Victoria 2017 Service and Excellence Awards.
