Infy Makers Awards

The Infy Makers Awards contest is a national contest sponsored by Infosys Foundation USA to support educators from K-12 schools, universities, colleges, libraries, museums, makerspaces, and youth-serving non-profit organizations using maker education to promote equitable and inclusive pathways for K-12+ students in computer science. Each year there is a dedicated theme for the applications (i.e. "Making A Difference”) which aims to narrow the focus for projects that empower students to become creative and collaborative problem-solvers of real-world challenges, both in their local communities and on a global scale. The vision for this program is to provide educators with resources to advance skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, and creativity to help launch the next generation of inventors.
Each year 10 educators received a $10,000 grant which could be used for materials, projects, research and community engagement; as well as the opportunity to participate in a Making CS Inclusive professional learning cohort facilitated by Digital Promise.
This #InfyMakers awards program was launched in June 2015 to celebrate the White House’s “National Week of Making” which recognized the Maker Movement and inventors. Since 2016, the Foundation provided over $1 million in grant funding to 100+ organizations across the country. Stories about the winners and their projects can be found below.
